French artist Rosa Rocca-Serra’s solo project ‘Denys and the Roses’, after having previously released their debut ‘Breakfast After Midnight’ last year, have made a bold comeback with their 60s imbued second single ‘Burn It All’.
I was pleasantly surprised when hearing ‘Burn It All’ for the first time and since then I haven’t been able to turn it off. It’s everything I want to hear at the moment. From the strong vocals to the summery undertones, it envelopes a real vintage feel that’s very versatile: it makes you want to bask in the sun with a cold drink but also sit around a campfire with a warm drink and a guitar. Taking inspiration from masterminds such as David Bowie, The Velvet Underground and PJ Harvey, Rosa Rocca-Serra has the potential to follow in their footsteps. ‘Burn It All’ is three minutes of surf-like, hazy melodies and electric energy.
