We're no strangers to Blackwood rockers Super Marine here - so when it was announced that they'd be releasing a brand new single, we got a bit excited as they never fail to impress us. The quartet, now armed with Sophie on bass, gave us a taster of their new acoustic sound with 'Don't Say Goodbye'. Their parred back performance delicately showcases rich melodies that tell a story, with soulful harmonies to add that pull on your heart strings. They've said the track looks at how you need to appreciate something when you have it, it's about living in the moment rather than thinking about what the future may hold.
This change in direction is something far from the pent up energy we're so used to hearing from them, but it successfully demonstrates their ability to experiment with new sounds whilst still keeping true to what Super Marine are known for - arena worthy anthems. Hopefully it won't be long until we can hear this one live; I can already picture crowds gently swaying back and forth whilst arms are raised in the air, phone torches or lighters flickering throughout the venue. The band, having received strong support from the likes of Janice Long and Adam Walton as well as airplay across the world, show no sign of stopping anytime soon, and we're buzzing to hear what they'll be up to next.
