Heavy Lungs make a riotous return with their gritty and honest EP 'Measure'. I'm sure the name Danny Neldelko strikes a chord somewhere but if doesn't you're in for a treat! These Bristolians have already firmly cemented themselves in the latest post-punk revival and are at the forefront of the thriving scene in their hometown, gaining a plethora of devoted and loving fans along the way. 'Measure' is a bold, ambitious and earnest EP with immense vigor and relentless hooks that’ll keep you humming for days. To open is their intense, foot stomping anthem 'Half Full'. Followed by aggression asserted by youthful punk anthem 'Self Worth' - reflecting on the latter. 'T.O.T.B' is captivating and chaotic throughout and there's no denying Heavy Lungs are a force to be reckoned with. '(A bit of a) Birthday', released originally as a single back in September, is invigorating and fuelled with gutsy riffs and stimulated drum beats whilst ‘Pacemaker’ ends the EP with the right level of gusto, dexterity and snarling vocals from Nedelko. It's clear to see that Heavy Lungs are really bringing something different to the table every time with their diverse selection of influences, their ethos and their angst. A must-see act!
